Baccarat is the king of casino games all over the world. More than 80% of the world’s betting comes from baccarat, and its popularity is beyond imagination. Other games add up to only 20%.
However, about 64% of baccarat bets come from VIP baccarat, where many high rollers like to try their luck.
Why am I telling you this because we know players are generally interested in numbers and stats! Therefore, we decided to take a closer look at this most popular casino game. This is not to teach you how to play baccarat, but to provide some facts and figures to deepen your understanding of the game.
Starting Hands and Natural Yellow Cards
We will ignore suits in baccarat, so there are 13 possible card PHL63s in the shoe: 1 (A), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and four 0s (10, J, Q and K). Whenever a card is dealt, there is a 1/13 chance of being 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, and a 4/13 chance of being 0 (we ignore small variations in the chance of A caused by removing the card). With 13 possibilities, there are 169 different combinations of starting hands for either the banker or the player. A hand of 25 combinations is 0 (also called baccarat); all other possible starting hands (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9) have exactly 16 combinations, that is, their possible equal.

You will notice that about one-third of the chances are determined by nature (that is, one or both of the banker and player gets an 8 or 9), and about one-third of the chances of the game continuing are Not two out of three players or players 8 or 9.
No natural cards, four cards make up a hand

Of course, these are the odds of the player beating any of the dealer’s cards per starting hand (from 7 to 0) when the fifth card is dealt. Comparing each player’s hand to each dealer’s hand is overly complicated, but it’s definitely a good start.
